CASA of Saline County recently sponsored a Trivia Night as a fundraiser. The event was held on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the American Legion in Harrisburg, IL. Ten teams competed in the event. Each team paid a $100.00 entrance fee. Teams could also purchase a “free” answer for each round. The winning team was Commercial Janitorial Services. Second place The Mysterians. Third place Sons of the American Legion. All which graciously donated their winnings back to CASA. Poker table won the award for the best decorated table along with the Emoji table and the Villians won the award for best costumes; Korella Diville and Poison Ivy. This was a fun event and a good way to raise $1,455.00 for a worthy cause.
Hands Around the Courthouse
On April 4,2017 at NOON the Judge, attorneys and people from the community and social services gathered at the courthouse to promote child abuse awareness. The blue kids, around the community, represent the silence of these kids and reminds us to speak up for our children. The pinwheel garden represents the number of children we currently serve in 2017.
The Ninth Annual Golf Tournament
The Ninth Annual Golf Tournament sponsored by State’s Attorney Jayson Clark and Sheriff Keith Brown in honor of the late Mike Henshaw was held on Friday, May 12, 2017, at the Saline County Golf and Country Club in Eldorado, IL. Harlem Wizards vs CASA Hotshots
October 16, 2016 the Harlem Wizards took on the CASA Hotshots once again for a fun filled game of comedy and basketball. Thank you to the sponsor of the event Representative Brandon Phelps, the three-point sponsors Senator Gary Forby and United Way 2-1-1, the half court shot sponsor Peoples National Bank, the ticket sponsor Becks Drugs Pharmacy, Oxygen and Medical Equipment and the souvenir sponsor Jason Kaisar. This event would have been so successfull without your support. CASA also thanks all the volunteers that played on the CASA team, the Eldorado High School and Lori Quigley, Cody Cusic and the Eldorado Math Club, the EHS Junior after prom committee, the Eldorado Women’s Club, the Referrees; David Aldridge, Donnie Cox and Mark Sigler, the score keeper Dan Lowery, Harrisburg WalMart, Banterra Bank and all the guests that came. The three-point contest was won by Brookes Wilson and the half court shot was won by Hayleigh Collins. Everyone seemed to have a great time and raised $7,800 to help abused and neglected children in Saline County. We are grateful to everyone!!!
